Evanescence: 2015-11-15 Dallas, TX (FLAC_Bootradr Master AUD_2 CD)

It's taken me about five months to finally work on getting this show I recorded late last year ready.  And it was an excellent show by Evanescence too.  I have liked this band, one of the few modern day bands I like, since I first heard some of their music in 2004/2005.  And since 2006, I have been to all of their concerts here in my area and I have recorded them too.

This was a fun show even though I do not like this venue.  The venue was called Palladium Ballroom up until around 2014 when the name changed over to South Side Ballroom.  On this night, my buddy, "whotapes", picked me up and we both went to the show with our recorders and microphones ready to have a great night.  And we did.

The reason for the title I gave this show, Going To California (Via Dallas), was due to the fact that Evanescence only did three shows in the USA in 2015.  After playing a Japan festival they decided to go ahead and play in Atlanta, Dallas, and Los Angeles before going back home.  And being a huge Led Zeppelin fan, I was very happy to hear the band do the song "Going To California".  Their third and last show (or the next one) was in California so the title only made sense (to me anyhow).

The opening band on this night was named Veridia.  The sounded pretty good also.  I used my Tascam DR-40 digital recorder and tested it on their performance.  While I know the recorder and its condenser microphones do a great job, I'm glad I switched over to use my Zoom H4n with the external Sony microphone for the Evanescence performance.  The venue is flat and it is a standing room only type of facility.  So with a lot of people standing, pushing by you, etc as you record you really have to have a recorder's microphones above head level.  This is a good idea anyhow, but in this type of environment, it is more of a necessity.  The Tascam did not get what I had hoped for due to the crowd arrangement so once I used my Zoom recorder and Sony microphone I was able to easily hold the microphone above the crowd and not look like I was going to be tazing someone (the way these digital recorders look).

The waveform was perfect and I sent the audio to "techtuts" who did a light clean up.  He said he just did a light EQ'ing and added a light reverb.  I believe he may have done some spectral repair too because I'd asked if he could remove some of the more annoying crowd noise moments in the recording (almost always between songs).  His work made a big difference in the audio and it definitely helped it sound better.

The crowd was a little noisy but the recording came out great considering what I was hearing behind and around me.  I cannot remember if I used the Sony microphone's 90° or 120° setting though.  I think in this case, one being in a smaller venue and not very far from the stage in the venue, I pretty sure I used the 120° setting.  I normally don't use this setting unless I am closer to the stage and want to get a wider coverage in the recording from the speakers at a venue.  The closer you get, the wider the pattern needs to be for a full range of sound.  The down side is you can also get some crowd talk in the recording too.  But the crowd noise is not bad even though there are a few annoying parts where people yelled out or were yapping about how great the band was or something else.

The band put on a spectacular show as they always do.  The setlist contained songs from their past all the way up to their last, 2011, release of their self titled Evanescence CD.  And I am pretty sure they added a new song of their own too.  I don't know if it will be on an upcoming CD release or if it might have been some other band's song they did.  But from the sound of it, I think it is their song?  The song is titled "New Way To Bleed" and I haven't heard it before.

Well, before making this post I went ahead and looked up information on "New Way To Bleed" and it is an Evanescence song they made for the soundtrack to the movie The Avengers according to Wikipedia.  This is still the first time I've heard it and hopefully someone else in Atlanta and/or Los Angeles recorded those shows and they'll surface someday soon.  I'd be interested in knowing if this was a onetime only song or not.

Thankfully "whotapes" brought a small, easy to use camera to the show.  I have been bringing my Canon camera to shows for years now but this venue was not one I wanted to be bringing a ton of gear into like I have in the past.  The last time I saw Evanescence was at this same venue and I got kicked out and readmitted for filming the concert.  They seem to be more tight on these things here and that's one reason I don't like the venue.  But "whotapes" was able to get some good photos and he sent them to me to make some artwork.  The artwork is nothing special but I still like including artwork when I record a show.  So I tried t remember how Photoshop use to work and then put together something from "whotapes'" photos and one of my smartphone pictures (the front art) to make the upload complete.

This is the second source recording of this show.  My friend "whotapes" uploaded his recording within a day or two of the concert.

I hope you enjoy the show...

Heart: 2013-08-15 Dallas, TX (FLAC_AUD Master_Bootradr Master_2 CD)

Well, even though I started working on this show over 24 hours ago, I still didn't get it uploaded on its 2nd anniversary yesterday.  I decided to make some artwork and that's something I haven't done in a long, long time.  But having taken a lot of photos at this show and having everything I needed to do make it, I had no excuse but to do it.

This was a great night in Dallas with John Bonham's band playing Led Zeppelin songs as the opening band and Heart ending it this night with a Led Zeppelin set and Bonham on the drums with them too.

I'll be uploading the John Bonham show too in the near future!

This recording came out well but it wasn't the full range of sound kind of "well" I'd hoped for.  I'd taken two digital recorders, a camcorder, and a camera also to get shots.  Needless to say; all of this was too much for a blind guy to control.  But my buddy, Digital_Journey, was there and he helped with some video and some photos too.  That was until the security guard came up behind us.

Less than halfway through the show you'll catch an audible "no video, right" or something similar being shouted a second time.  I honestly didn't hear the first time the security guy came up in the recording as I listened to the show all the way through for the first time today.  It was just as well that the security for the venue wouldn't let us use the video camera because the audio was very distorted due to microphone problems.  We learned after the show from the security guy that the reason he even said anything was because a woman a few rows behind us came to him twice reporting we were recording the show.  He said that nobody at the venue even cared about that stuff but when someone comes up and reports it, especially twice, they have to stop it.  They didn't make us stop taking photos or even notice the audio recorders probably.

The show came out sounding real clean and good as I listened to it after burning it to disc today.  I'm not sure what made the sound less than perfect though.  It may have been where we were in the venue or it may have been the sound coming from the stage?  It's definitely not bad at all.  I don't want to give that impression and I'll post some samples on Dime so others can hear before they download anything  and be sure they want it first.  I don't think anyone will regret getting it.  I've just heard better recordings of this tour and I really was hoping to get one of those myself.

Both Heart and Jason Bonham's band were really great and the night was very enjoyable.  There was no clipping in the waveform at the 96 kHz/24 bit WAV I recorded in.  But after down sampling to 44 kHz/16 bit WAV there is a tiny bit.  It's definitely nothing to worry about and really it isn't worth even mentioning.  You won't hear any distortion or breaking audio.  And the audience noise is low too in the recording.  I did not alter the audio in any way (no EQ'ing) other than what has been mentioned.

I hope you enjoy the show...

Def Leppard: 2014-07-13 Dallas, TX (FLAC_Bootradr Master AUD_44.1 kHz/16 bit_1 CD)

First off, I'd like to say thank you Andy for the tickets to this show!  If it hadn't been  for his generosity I wouldn't have been able to have been at this concert event.  I had an excellent time Sunday night in Dallas at the KISS/Def Leppard concerts.  It was a blast and both bands rocked out all night.

The KISS show will be up within a few days at most.  I'll get it uploaded as soon as I have a chance to do the work putting it together.

I'm uploading a 44.1 kHz/16 bit and 96 kHz/24 bit version of both the Def Leppard show and the Kiss show when all is said and done.  I already uploaded the 96/24 version and this is the 44/16 (CD standard) version being uploaded now.

I'm also including about 50 high resolution photos I shot (out of over 500 the whole night).  I was able to get some great shots of both bands thankfully with my Canon SX30IS camera I slipped in.  Well, they really don't care anymore and the girl taking tickets and "inspecting" bags saw it in my camera bag because I really didn't even try to hide it.  But I didn't wear it around me neck walking in so I "slipped" it in :-)

Anyhow, I'm hoping two things will come out of the images.  I'm hoping (a) someone will create some high quality artwork and share it and (b) someone will take the 96/24 audio version and create a DVD-A using the photos.  My DVD-A creating experience has led me to believe I do not have a program that does it losslessly.  If anyone feels like doing this, please leave a comment and let me know.  If not, enjoy the shots!

It was suppose to reach 100°F Sunday and it very well may have.  Joe Elliott mentioned the Phoenix show being hot but he said it was not as hot as it was in Dallas.  I really can't imagine why the artists get up on stage wearing coats and stuff that.  It would make you extra hot (well, Kiss has to I guess).  But whatever the reason, they do and he was right.  The Texas heat is here and for the next few months each outdoor concert is likely to only get hotter.

But the heat didn't seem to bother anyone in the crowd and by the time Def Leppard was halfway through their set the crowd was getting more and more excited and into the show and had forgotten about any heat.

I haven't seen KISS since 1985 whereas I've seen Def Leppard a half dozen times in recent years (since early 2000's).  I have to say I was honestly blown away by both bands.  Def Leppard had never sounded better (as far as when I've heard them live) than in their show in Dallas on 2012-09-03.  Or so I thought!  I believe this show was a better played and better sounding show than the previous 2012 Dallas show even.  And the 2012 show was indoors too.  And KISS was much, much better than I was expecting too.  They put on a superb sounding, very cool special effects rock 'n' roll show.  I'm still trying to decide which band I enjoyed more?

I hope you enjoy the concert...

Journey: 2014-05-25 Dallas, TX (FLAC_Bootradr Master AUD Source 1_96 kHz/24 bit)

Here's my first of two digital audio recording sources I used to record the Journey and The Steve Miller Band shows last Sunday.  The shows were all great and I had a very good time (once again) recording the shows.

The downside to this night's events was my seating.  I'm not complaining at all.  I was there and it was a sold out show.  But unfortunately, I was in the very back rows of the venue and practically out where the people with cheaper lawn tickets were at.  And it was raining.  After moving 4 times between the Tower of Power concert (I didn't record) and The Steve Miller Band concert (I recorded on just one digital recorder), by the time Journey was about to come on I had moved up only one row from my seating and it worked great.  I was very far back, but I was dead center of the stage too.  And the recordings came out great and much better than I expected from where I was located.

As my buddy, "Digital_Journey, his wife, and I got to the venue, the rain started coming down.  My friend's wife had elected to just get a  lawn seating ticket for herself because we had really never considered the rain possibility while my friend and I had gotten seating tickets (very early as they went on sale six months earlier too).  After all, this was Journey's first show in the cooler part of any year since 1998 when they started touring and coming to Dallas again.  In all of the past years the shows were between June and August when Texas seldom sees rain and the heat is high.

I went on in, got the checkpoint and ticket scan out of the way, and went to where my friend and I were going to be sitting.  And as fate would have it, it was about two or three rows outside of where the roof covers you!  I moved up as he was out in the lawn area with his wife and some other friends that had shown up.  I had to keep my equipment dry.

I recorded all but the first song on The Steve Miller Band's set under the dryness of the roof (still way, way back).  After the venue started filling up more and more, and after having to move a few times because ticket holders for the seats I was commandeering started showing up, I finally realized I was only going to get one row closer than I already was.  I did my best to get behind someone not too tall so as to not have them blocking the microphone I was using on Source 1's recorder.  And it wound up being a really good location for where I was able to be at.

"Digital_Journey" and his wife had meantime come across a couple leaving because a guy's wife had gotten sick.  They gave their right side of the stage, Section 100, tickets to my friend and his wife.  He came over and told me between the sets for The Steve Miller Band and Journey what had happened and he was going to go ahead and sit with his wife in their new seating.  This enabled him to take some video in 720p from his camera (not a smart phone) and he recorded 4 songs I'm including as bonus material in this upload.  I also used my camera but it was hard having two digital recorders, an external microphone, and a camera bag hanging off of me.  I got a few good photos of Journey but due to their bright light show many didn't come out as I had hoped.  The Steve Miller Band on the other hand, with a dark and starry background most of their show, made for some great shots.  But since my priority was getting the best audio I could, I wasn't as concerned with the photography part knowing "Digital_Journey" was taking pictures.  Unfortunately, his camera wasn't doing too good of a job on photographs (looked great on video though).  However, he still got some good shots too and it was of a part of the stage I couldn't seem to capture (Neal Schon's side).  So between the two cameras, there are some good photos I'm including too.

I'm really happy with the audio I got on both recorders.  I was quiet surprised since I was so far back too.  The one downside to a few songs is the (presumably drunk) guy who was a row or two up and to my left that decided he was Steve Perry/Arnel Pineda on a few songs and he thought so loudly too.  It definitely doesn't ruin the show though.  He sang not only out of key but out of sync too.  He didn't really do it much until nearing the end of the second half of CD 2.  Annoying, yes!  But it's part of live performances recording too.  Plus, a lot of others (the crowd) were singing along in tune as the band played those types of songs so he doesn't sound like he's just there yelling most of the time.  I even tried blocking his vocals a little by using my body and the microphone position.  I probably should've just let it go and did nothing.

My buddy "Tupchurch" created some artwork for the show using my ticket scan and some of the shots I'd taken at the show.  So a huge "Thank you" goes to him for doing this!  I'm including the 96/24 and 44/16 artwork both in each upload (Source 1 & Source 2).  It may be later today or even another day or two before I can finish editing the 44.1 kHz/16 bit CD standard version I made from the 963 kHz/24 bit audio I recorded in and I upload it here.  I figured I'd upload the best audio sample and bit rate version first.  I plan on making a DVD-A of this uploaded material in the future, but that won't be for a while.

I also am interested in doing a matrix recording using both Source 1 and Source 2 audio.  But I've never done this before, and again, it may be a while before that ever happens.  If there is anyone interested in doing this as a project, let me know and I'd be happy to let you do it if you already know how.

Anyhow, that's the story and I hope you enjoy the concert...

Journey: 2004-02-14 San Antonio, TX (FLAC_Bootradr Master AUD_2 CD)

Here is the show that made me grow my hair long again!  It was a little over two year after my eye surgeries left me legally blind, I was broke due to not being able to work, and I had a choice.  I could either go get a haircut or go see Journey.  Doesn't sound like much of a choice does it?  After going to the show, and still being broke too, I decided I didn't need a haircut after all.  It just make me wish I hadn't already cut it off in 1998!

This show was the main event at San Antonio's 55th Annual Stock Show & Rodeo.  My buddy, "digital_journey", called me up and asked if I felt like riding down to San Antonio to go see Journey.  The tickets were super cheap (more than $15...thanks "digital_journey" for covering me) and the show was excellent.  The recording came out really good too.  Even better than I recalled as I listened to some of it before ripping it with EAC today.

I need to listen back to where this occurred, but somewhere around "Chain Reaction" an SBC Center security guard came up and asked if I had a microphone.  I just ignored him, partially because I wanted him to leave, but also partially because I couldn't see him.  He gave me some flack (not the the good FLAC) and I tried to use the blind thing to ward him off.  It worked, and I think he came back again, but after that he left me alone and I just recorded the whole time.  As far as I was concerned, he was out of sight, out of mind!  I'm just glad I didn't get kicked out and was able to record the whole concert really.

One thing different about this show than other shows I've been to was the rotating stage.  SBC Center, now called AT&T Center I believe, was an indoor "do,me" type of structure from what little I could see.  My buddy took 41 photos.  Unfortunately, the camera didn't do the best of jobs.  I don't think there were any camera phones back then (thank God) and this was likely done with a 2 - 4 megapixel camera.  I'll add a few to the bottom of this post to give you an idea (zoomed in of course) of what the stage looked like.

Just typing this takes me back to that great trip.  We're only 6 weeks away from it being 10 years ago right now.  My how time flies.

Anyhow, I hope you enjoy this concert because there are many more to come...

Journey: 2006-07-29 Dallas, TX (FLAC_Bootradr Master AUD_2 CD)

Here's another show I recorded over 7 years ago and it has been in very low circulation.  This is one I'd sort of lost in the sea of hard drives.  And there are many other uncirculated shows and recordings I've recorded too of Journey and other bands that were "when I can see better" or "when I have time" projects that never got completed.  These are all gems to me because I was there recording them.  But they're also pains in the butt when trying to locate and determine, confirm, research, and whatever else is entailed in getting shows ready and making sure they're not already out there too.

This is a unique show because it was Journey with their new "temporary" singer.  Every time I think of this show I think of the lyrics to Journey's "Edge of the Blade" song that say "I've heard rumors all around, contracts and lawyers, champagne downtown, tell me me what you think you want me to do...".  Well, I've heard stories and rumors from people that supposedly know and from people who were actually a part of the transitioning stage of Journey's singers spanning from Steve Augeri, to Jeff Scott Soto (this concert's singer), to the current singer Arenel Pineda.  And no matter what story I've heard or what the truth is, Journey wasn't being nice it sounds like to their singers as they were trying to keep, find, replace, or whatever them.  But, since this is not something I care to get into or can say with 100% certainty is the truth, I'm not going to spread any rumors myself.

Anyhow, in this show that was more or less halfway through the tour, Journey's singer Steve Augeri was gone and Jeff Scott Soto, a name I'd never heard, was in.  I was not expecting much as we arrived at the show, but man, I was pleasantly surprised.  Jeff Scott Soto did an awesome job.  And then he was gone as soon as the tour ended.  There are other fan recorded shows with Jeff Scott Soto singing with Journey, but there aren't too many.

This was the Def Leppard and Journey tour and I did record both shows of course. My buddy, Digital Journey, some other friends, and I went to this show and it is the first show I've seen Journey being the opening band in. They've always been the headlining act, but in this case, Def Leppard was.

I had forgotten all about Deen Castronovo singing "Who's Crying Now" and "Faithfully" in this show. These are two songs I don't think he ever sang live, before or after this half tour with Jeff Scott Soto on lead vocals, in any of the many other Journey shows I've seen. Since 2004 I believe, Deen, Journey's drummer by the way, has performed the lead vocals on just a few of the higher note songs from the earlier Steve Perry era that Journey rarely ever plays.  Deen was singing the 1981 Escape song "Still They Ride" in 2009 and and the 1980 Departure song "Precious Time" in 2004 I know.  But I'd never heard him sing the 1981 Escape album's "Who's Crying Now" or the 1983 Frontiers album's "Faithfully".  These more well known hits have always (at least in the past and through 2012) been performed by the band's lead singer.  Deen may sing more songs in this show?  I just caught these two songs as I was preparing this upload and it has been too many years since I've listened to this show (I plan to today once again) all the way through.

I hope you enjoy this more rare era of Journey, a short-lived era with Jeff Scott Soto on vocals, and there will be more to follow as I get time to put them up.  Happy New Year...

Sara Bareilles: 2010-10-02 Dallas, TX (Bootradr Master AUD Shot DVD_Uncirculated)

I'm really happy with the way this video turned out in the long run.  This show has gone uncirculated due to trying to make it into something I don't fully have the knowledge or time to pursue right now.  This show was three years ago tonight.

I'd tried via a number of methods and programs to build this DVD differently, but each way had its problems or drawbacks.  I didn't want to use the easier but yet lesser quality with mp2 audio program I have because I wanted to maintain the AC3 audio.  But with two other DVD programs that kept the AC3 audio stream, I kept having menu building issues.  And the worthless Roxio Media Creator 2010 Pro program kept crashing and would not allow me to add chapters where I wanted them (only 5 minute chapter creation was not grayed out).  I got it to work with Adobe Premiere Pro CE5, but I still had issues building the menus.  And I still haven't learned how to accurately create a matrix audio stream either.  So, I left the project sitting for the last year or so and moved on to other projects.

This upload is the final Adobe Premier Pro CE5 project without any menus.  It does have chapters for each song.  I did not remove anything from what I captured on the two Sony master digital Mini-DV tapes.  So there is a 3 - 4 seconds of blue screen (I always prepare and start the recordings a few seconds into the brand new tapes) at the beginning of the DVD, a slight cut in Sara Bareilles' coming out on stage unexpectedly and introducing her guitarist as he did an opening set, and one more blue screen segment as I inserted Mini-DV # 2.  This final (for now) project is on one DVD.

I'd planned on using one of the two digital audio recorder's audio to overdub the video's audio and also have multiple choices in the audio streams, but I never did get that completed.  I have the (1) master Sony MD70 with an external Sony ECM-917 microphone recorder's unedited audio, (2) master Zoom H2 digital audio recorder's audio, and (3) the two master Sony DVM60 ME Premium DV cassette tapes (each recorded in HQ 1 hour mode).  So, if anyone with more time, knowledge, and better software to create a true digital transfer and better DVD build happens to be interested in doing so.  leave a reply or e-mail me at bootradr@yahoo.com (I check this about once a week) if you might be interested in doing this.  I've only played the Sony Mini-DV cassettes twice and I've stored them well (with other shows) that I haven't had the ability to transfer 100% digitally or do any matrix and/or multiple stream DVD builds on.

Here are the details you want.  More details on the show and the night follow near the end of this posting.

This was a great show and a great night.  It was also my first time seeing Sara Bareilles.  I only had a few issues the whole night and they were all overcome for the most part.  I had one security guard tell me I couldn't film near the end of the show, but this was during my changing of the Mini-DV tapes so it wasn't caught on the video recording.  And after an excuse I'd prepared for in advance, they walked away and never came back and I continued on.

There was one issue (or person) that I was worried would ruin the recording, but in hindsight, they really didn't botch things very much and it's almost amusing when they are heard.  A drop dead gorgeous 20-to-30-something year old drunk girl with an annoying voice was there with her (I guess) boyfriend.  She was rambling on in a drunken state and I eventually told her she was being recorded each time she was talking.  Part of this can be heard in the video but the directional microphone did an excellent job of keeping her voice from ruining this recording.  Oh yea, she can be heard at times and you'll hear what I mean about how drunk she was :-)  But she definitely didn't ruin things and she disappeared (probably passed out) before the end of the show.

Another annoyance to me, and one you soon don't even notice, was the beer bottle clanking occasionally picked up as waitresses or patrons dropped empty beer bottles into a trash can somewhere behind me.  There's something loud about beer bottle on beer bottle impact.  But it's not too often, you don't even notice it after a few times, and it's not a show stopping or ruining problem on the DVD.

I had a very steady camera holding night too.  There are a few times I had to check on the other digital recorders, ask the drunk girl to quieten down, or I had some other issue that causes some video shakiness.  But overall; the video stability is great!  There are some other times where (I'm guessing here) the stage lights cause some focus issues, but it isn't too terrible.  Plus I had an advantage in my location where the crowd in front of me was a few steps lower than me and they do not block anything!

I just got finished telling you the reasons you may find issues within the video, but truthfully, this came out very good I think (even if I was the one recording it :-) ).  I am very pleased with the show and the capturing of it.  And I hope you are too.

As far as I've seen or know, nobody else recorded a full Sara Bareilles show on this Kaleidoscope Heart tour.  And if they have, I've yet to see it surface over the last three years.  I hope another one does surface.  If fact, I've never seen any other lossless Sara Bareilles (complete and/or non-cell phone) show surface from a video camera yet other than the pro shot 2008 Baden-Baden New Pop Festival video.

I'm very happy with the outcome of this video and I'm proud to be sharing it 3 years to the day later.  I think you will enjoy it and I hope you do too...

Sara Bareilles: 2013-09-21 Grand Prairie, TX (FLAC_Bootradr Master Source 1_1 CD)

Everyone who knows me knows I'm a classic rock 'n' roll kind of guy.  But we all have our guilty pleasures, and Sara Bareilles' voice and many of her songs are one of my guilty pleasures.  She has an incredible voice, is hotter than an iron, and she and her band put on excellent live shows.  Her live performances are much better than her official studio releases in my opinion (and her studio releases are great too!).  And last night's show was no exception.

The only downside to last night's show was it was the final show this tour before she starts her headlining tour.  In other words, her show didn't run as long as the rest of the shows this year will because there were a total of 5 acts playing and Sara Bareilles and New Republic were the main acts.  She was the second from last act and the show ran approximately one hour.  But it was great and I got a great recording too!

I had an excellent seat on the 5th row, stage right in front of the stacks.  The venue was packed too but this great seating weeds out 90% of crowd noise even in between the songs.

As many of you might know, I am legally blind.  And since I am, I use this to my advantage when it comes to concert going.  I called up Verizon Theatre before going to the show and asked them if I could come early and get assistance in finding my seat.  There were very supportive and very kind people working last night, and while I don't know for sure, asking for this help may have helped me get the recording I made as well as not shut down in picture taking like the lady to my left had to.  I had a digital recorder hanging around my neck, another digital recorder with an external microphone (this source) and I was holding the microphone, a camera bag, and a very nice Cannon camera I was shooting photos and HD video with.  I was seated at the very end of my 5th row seat with a small walkway to my right just wide enough for security to walk up and down and a set of railings for them to hold on to.  Just shortly into the show, I was approached by a security guard and I thought he was saying I couldn't use it (the camera).  I really didn't hear him but was attempting to ignore him too.  But he got my attention and told the lady to my left she could not use her camera (about as nice as mine).  He told me "your camera is OK :-)  I'm thinking "what"?  Just near the end of the song "Gravity", either the same employee of another one came up and said "Hey"!  Again, I thought I was getting told to shut down.  I tried explaining I'd already been told I could use the camera and the guy said "No, not you, get her" (or something like that).  You can hear part of the short conversation in the quiet ending of "Gravity".  I have no idea if this guy knew of my being legally blind and was just being cool or even why he didn't say anything about the audio recorders I had too.  But he didn't!  I was between him and the lady and her friends he (or they) was (or were) telling to put their camera away and stop using it.  It's my opinion it probably was the same guy and he was just being cool knowing that even though I could've thrown a feather and hit the artist, I couldn't see very well and he allowed me to do what I was doing.  But I really do not know?  All I know is that every venue employee I dealt with from the time I got there early until I walked out the door leaving was extremely nice and helpful.  And I want to thank them for that here!

So, that was my night last night and it was a great one.  The show was great, the sound I captured was great, and I had a great night all of the way around!

I hope you can enjoy my guilty pleasure as much as I did last night...
