Page & Plant: 1996-02-09 Tokyo, Japan (DVD_AUD Shot_Master Remaster_2 DVD)

This is the 2006 Third Eye remaster of the video from the Page & Plant 1996-02-09 concert in Tokyo, Japan.  I'm uploading it by request today and will be uploading some more Page & Plant DVDs over the next few weeks too.

I uploaded the zipped files two days ago to my file sharing site but I am now now finally able to post the links because I've been a little busy the last two days.  In an effort to save time, I uploaded the show "as is" and left the house while I was taking care of responsibilities and I did not change anything at all before uploading the files.  I left the original file set and torrent folder exactly as I got it intact.  that means the original checksum (md5) file and the original text already in the file set are what I used.

Thanks goes to the Royal Orleans seeder and posting party that helped me get this missing 1996 Page & Plant Japanese tour show I did not yet have in my collection back in February of this year.

I hope you enjoy the show and the bonus material too...

Journey: 1978-09-02 San Mateo, CA (FLAC_SB/FM/Studio_2 Source Mix_Bootradr Remaster_1 CD)

This is a great recording of Journey and one of the rarer ones to circulate too.  For many years, I never uploaded this show because all of the earlier copies I had obtained over the years were not that great.  But about two years ago, and I believe it was thanks to a Dime member but I can't confirm that at the time, I was able to get this upgrade.

I tagged this post as "Bootradr Remaster" but it is not a real remastering job.  I just did this because of the work I did do in adding the second source mix as you'll see below.  No audio altering was done to this project.

This was not the complete show though.  However, I took the four missing tracks not in this upgraded copy from the Gypsy Eye label's Look Into The Future bootleg, and in a decent quality recording too, and added them to the end of the show where they belonged.  Gypsy Eye's bootleg release doesn't have the high notes like this Allied Production copy does.  It has a little bit of a "muted" sound in the high frequencies.  But I went ahead and merged them and did not alter anything in the audio.  But the show could use a remastering or EQ job to make it even better sounding.  But it still sounds excellent I think and especially when it is compared to earlier versions circulating.

This concert was a benefit concert Journey did for a high school.  It was the Burrell Junior High School Benefit show and Journey raised $6,000 for uniforms for the school.  Ha!  $6,000 back then probably equates to $60,000 nowadays (just kidding...I have no idea).

I created some artwork for the show back in 2000, but this copy already had the LP artwork too that it came with.  Since the LP artwork isn't really CD artwork comparable for the rear of a CD case I'll include the back cover artwork I created and it is ready to print and add to the back case of any regular size CD case.  The only issue is neither artwork creations are for the full show and the LP artwork is way off on the setlist too.

I have heard that Monitro Studio had studios in San Francisco and San Mateo, California.  I even looked it up in the past and confirmed it via the web at some point.  This is suppose to be a show that occurred in San Mateo, California from all the research others and myself have done in past years.  My back artwork does have San Francisco on it however because in 2000 that's where "we" thought the show was performed.

This show has some really cool and more rare Journey tracks too that you do not usually hear very often live.  Songs like "I Would Find You" and "Can Do" are on this copy, and on the full show, which is the Gypsy Eye label's four additional songs, "Look Into The Future" is on it also now.

The date for this show has been in question also for some time.  Most have settled on September 2, 1978. The setlist is not in any concert played type of order either..  When Steve Perry was new in Journey (he joined in 1977 and started performing live around March of 1978), they would start their shows off with a few songs without him singing.  This show is arranged in that same manner.  I believe he comes in on the third song.  It is a different order and I'm not sure how the band decided on what was going to be played in this live FM radio show.  But it's a great variety of songs and a mix of the new at the time Infinity LP songs as well as songs from the pre Perry era of Journey.  Of course Perry, like in the live 1978 concerts, sings with Gregg Rolie on most of the tracks he was never on in the studio released LP's before he was in the band.  It really gives them a completely new life too.

As far as information goes, don't be fooled by the song titles on the album (surely a bootleg sold) listed artwork.  It lists songs like "Next" as "Midnight Dreamer" and we know that is not the right title.  It also shows "Of A Lifetime" as being named "Kohoutek" which is a completely different Journey song altogether.  Maybe somebody who isn't blind like me can actually read the text on the back of the artwork.  It looks like newspaper clippings added to the album art and they may have some details of help and interest.  I just cannot read it myself.

Well, maybe I can read it.  The artwork is in a high enough resolution I have been able to zoom in and see the text.  Ironically, and four years before "Separate Ways" (1982) was ever created as a song by the band, the back artwork from the LP talks of Aynsley Dunbar leaving the band as Journey and Aynsley "...have gone their separate ways..." it states.  In fact, I just recalled this was suppose to be Dunbar's last performance with Journey.

I hope you enjoy the show...

Led Zeppelin: 1973-05-28 San Diego, CA (FLAC_SB_2 CD)

Well, it's been a long time since I've made a post.  You thought I was going to say rock and rolled didn't you.  Either way, you'd just about be right.  Things have slowed down enough to finally start posting some shows again thankfully.  And I'm going to start off with this Led Zeppelin show from 1973 today.

This soundboard is reportedly a mix of different label's releases put out.  I'm not sure personally if this is true or not.  I've never listened to it.  But I am right now as I prepare this post, and it is sounding excellent so far.

Just typing the setlist indicates something doesn't look right in the order it is in.  "No Quarter" before "The Song Remains The Same" and "The Rain Song" doesn't seem right nor does "Heartbreaker" before "Whole Lotta Love" either.  But looking at other setlists, it is correct.

A portion of this show is reportedly taken from the EVSD release Three Days Before which is the first copy of this show I ever got way back in the 2000 time frame.  Three Days Before is suppose to represent three days before John Bonham's birthday which is May 31st.

I have never compared the EVSD recording against this recordings other than briefly and they both sound excellent.  I'm up to "Since I've Been Loving You" right now and it sounds like an excellent, smooth flowing show.  I'm a little curious about getting to the incomplete (approximately 2 1/2 minutes long) "Dazed and Confused" because I do not see it on any other 1973-05-28 recordings I have or on any artwork for other shows either.  And looking at the timeline on the official Led Zeppelin website, it shows the same setlist as above too.

The show seems complete and uncut up through "No Quarter", where after the music starts, the song jumps ahead to John Paul Jones' keyboard solo recently started and continues on.  I'd guess about 5 minutes of the beginning is missing.  Put Jimmy Page sounds superb in his guitar solo in this show!  And I like how his guitar is up front in the sound so far too in the show.  I've included the Trader's Little Helper audio file details as I always do nowadays, and taking a look right now, it shows "No Quarter" is 9:09 in length and that indicates the portion cut after the song starts is probably around what I "guesstimated" I'd say.

The official Led Zeppelin website says this was a sold out show with a seating capacity of 16,000 people at the Sports Arena in San Diego on this night.  In fact, the more I looked I noticed the site states every show on the 1973 tour was a sold out show. I never knew that.   This was one of the best Led Zeppelin tours ever no doubt!

This is a really excellent sounding show, the mix is great, there is a little tape his but nothing too bad, and this is a very enjoyable listening experience.  It's probably my first time to listen to the show in at least a decade or more and I've had this specific, no label recording for the last 5+ years too.

I'm up to "Dazed and Confused" now and everything other than the cut in "No Quarter"  and the fact that "Dazed and Confused" only contains the last few seconds of the song and then Robert Plant talking about something going wrong with a guitar piece as he asks others to bear with them a moment sounds excellent.  The recording has really been perfect and sounds equal to me.  If this is a mix of various sources, I haven't seen any indication yet.

Rather than listen to the whole show and report every detail, I'm going ahead and closing out now so I can upload the concert.  There is definitely enough excellence in this show to merit getting it if you don't have it.  And that includes even if the audio changes for the worse.  CD 1 has been great and here's hoping CD 2 keeps a rollin' the same way!

I hope you enjoy the show...

SPECIAL NOTICE: Updating Links & New Shows Coming Soon

As I've mentioned already, I've not had the time to work on my page the last couple of months.  But all that is changing and new shows will be uploaded before next week.  Wow, come to think of it today and tomorrow are the last two days Led Zeppelin played in the USA 38 years ago (1977).

Anyhow, I've had a lot of PM's on my Facebook page, e-mails, etc, etc over the last few months about dead links.  And this morning I am trying to fix a lot of the ones I know are bad.  However; there are some I've lost track of too.

If you come across a dead link please leave a reply and I will fix it ASAP!  If you want, leave a message in the Facebook Bootradr's Blind Boot Blog Community Page.  That group is open to all.  And if you're a member of the BBBB Secret Group (Facebook), feel free to leave a message there too.  If you aren't a member of the latter group and want to be, let me know and I can tell you how I can add you.  See the open Community Page at this link and there are instruction there (and here on this page) too.  The open group is at this link:
