Journey: 2014-05-25 Dallas, TX (FLAC_Bootradr Master AUD Source 1_96 kHz/24 bit)

Here's my first of two digital audio recording sources I used to record the Journey and The Steve Miller Band shows last Sunday.  The shows were all great and I had a very good time (once again) recording the shows.

The downside to this night's events was my seating.  I'm not complaining at all.  I was there and it was a sold out show.  But unfortunately, I was in the very back rows of the venue and practically out where the people with cheaper lawn tickets were at.  And it was raining.  After moving 4 times between the Tower of Power concert (I didn't record) and The Steve Miller Band concert (I recorded on just one digital recorder), by the time Journey was about to come on I had moved up only one row from my seating and it worked great.  I was very far back, but I was dead center of the stage too.  And the recordings came out great and much better than I expected from where I was located.

As my buddy, "Digital_Journey, his wife, and I got to the venue, the rain started coming down.  My friend's wife had elected to just get a  lawn seating ticket for herself because we had really never considered the rain possibility while my friend and I had gotten seating tickets (very early as they went on sale six months earlier too).  After all, this was Journey's first show in the cooler part of any year since 1998 when they started touring and coming to Dallas again.  In all of the past years the shows were between June and August when Texas seldom sees rain and the heat is high.

I went on in, got the checkpoint and ticket scan out of the way, and went to where my friend and I were going to be sitting.  And as fate would have it, it was about two or three rows outside of where the roof covers you!  I moved up as he was out in the lawn area with his wife and some other friends that had shown up.  I had to keep my equipment dry.

I recorded all but the first song on The Steve Miller Band's set under the dryness of the roof (still way, way back).  After the venue started filling up more and more, and after having to move a few times because ticket holders for the seats I was commandeering started showing up, I finally realized I was only going to get one row closer than I already was.  I did my best to get behind someone not too tall so as to not have them blocking the microphone I was using on Source 1's recorder.  And it wound up being a really good location for where I was able to be at.

"Digital_Journey" and his wife had meantime come across a couple leaving because a guy's wife had gotten sick.  They gave their right side of the stage, Section 100, tickets to my friend and his wife.  He came over and told me between the sets for The Steve Miller Band and Journey what had happened and he was going to go ahead and sit with his wife in their new seating.  This enabled him to take some video in 720p from his camera (not a smart phone) and he recorded 4 songs I'm including as bonus material in this upload.  I also used my camera but it was hard having two digital recorders, an external microphone, and a camera bag hanging off of me.  I got a few good photos of Journey but due to their bright light show many didn't come out as I had hoped.  The Steve Miller Band on the other hand, with a dark and starry background most of their show, made for some great shots.  But since my priority was getting the best audio I could, I wasn't as concerned with the photography part knowing "Digital_Journey" was taking pictures.  Unfortunately, his camera wasn't doing too good of a job on photographs (looked great on video though).  However, he still got some good shots too and it was of a part of the stage I couldn't seem to capture (Neal Schon's side).  So between the two cameras, there are some good photos I'm including too.

I'm really happy with the audio I got on both recorders.  I was quiet surprised since I was so far back too.  The one downside to a few songs is the (presumably drunk) guy who was a row or two up and to my left that decided he was Steve Perry/Arnel Pineda on a few songs and he thought so loudly too.  It definitely doesn't ruin the show though.  He sang not only out of key but out of sync too.  He didn't really do it much until nearing the end of the second half of CD 2.  Annoying, yes!  But it's part of live performances recording too.  Plus, a lot of others (the crowd) were singing along in tune as the band played those types of songs so he doesn't sound like he's just there yelling most of the time.  I even tried blocking his vocals a little by using my body and the microphone position.  I probably should've just let it go and did nothing.

My buddy "Tupchurch" created some artwork for the show using my ticket scan and some of the shots I'd taken at the show.  So a huge "Thank you" goes to him for doing this!  I'm including the 96/24 and 44/16 artwork both in each upload (Source 1 & Source 2).  It may be later today or even another day or two before I can finish editing the 44.1 kHz/16 bit CD standard version I made from the 963 kHz/24 bit audio I recorded in and I upload it here.  I figured I'd upload the best audio sample and bit rate version first.  I plan on making a DVD-A of this uploaded material in the future, but that won't be for a while.

I also am interested in doing a matrix recording using both Source 1 and Source 2 audio.  But I've never done this before, and again, it may be a while before that ever happens.  If there is anyone interested in doing this as a project, let me know and I'd be happy to let you do it if you already know how.

Anyhow, that's the story and I hope you enjoy the concert...

STICKY NOTE: Fastest Way To Reach Me

2015-01-02 UPDATE:

The best way to reach me is by the Bootradr's Blind Boot Blog Facebook page.  If there are dead links, you have a request, or just want to say hello or make a comment, the place I'll see it first and fastest is via the Facebook site.

Due to my vision and the problems it causes me, The Facebook site is something I use and will be seeing every day.  But until it picks up I'm not posting the shows here and there anymore.  If you'd be interested in following my BBBB Facebook page to get notifications of new posts, then I could start posting the links on Facebook again so it would make it easier for people who use that social media site.  I have a Twitter account and a few others social media accounts too.  But I really am not using them because it takes a lot of extra time keeping up with all kinds of social media sites.  I'd rather put my time into uploading shows here :-)

The Facebook site for Bootradr's Blind Boot Blog and the best place to reach me is right HERE!

Feel free to leave messages and comments here too.  Please do.  But I do not see them as fast as I do via Facebook just so you know.

***************original; posting in past about reaching me***************

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to let those of you nice enough to leave comments know I appreciate it and thank you!  Due to me being legally blind, I do miss a lot of replies at times and don't seem to get to them until months later sometimes.  I apologize for that!

But here's a way to help me see your replies that have any requests or questions faster.  If you are interested in seeing if I can upload (as examples) "Led Zeppelin XXXX-XX-XX...", "Journey XXXX-XX-XX", etc; leave a comment in my most recent post at the top of the HOME PAGE.  I'll definitely notice it much faster and be able to help.

Unfortunately, blogspot isn't always very good in letting me know I have a new reply.  But I'll see one if it is in the most recent post very fast!

I wish there was a way (and maybe there is but I haven't found it yet) to make a sticky note that would stay at the top of the screen at all times.  But since their isn't it appears, I figure adding a "0-xxx..." to this post's label/tag will sort the tag at the top of my labels column (or SHOWS & POSTS").  And that should make it easier for all to see first for anyone who take the time to read this.

I also plan on adding a label/tag for "Helpful Tips, Must Have Software (the free stuff), Ratings (mine anyhow)", and other important topics than can help long-time collectors as much as newbie collectors in this hobby/passion of music collecting.

I love sharing with like-minded people as much as I love finding new shows and material myself.  And remember, there is never a stupid question either!  This is a never ending learning experience for all traders and collectors and I love that about our music collecting.  I'm learning new and better ways of doing things all the time too.  And I still have a lot to learn and I hope I always do.  That's half the fun of the passion we all share in finding the shows we want.

I hope everyone is having a great day and I'll be uploading some more really soon (hopefully today)...

Journey: 1982-05-21 Chicago, IL_AUD_Bootradr Remaster V.3_2 CD)

PREFACE:
I uploaded Version 2 of my remastering two days ago. As I was listening to the CD-R's I burned of the show yesterday, I quickly realized the right channel was louder on the source recording and it needed to be balanced.  I just finished up with balancing the channels and it makes a huge difference in sound.  The last four tracks, where the sound changes on the recording, did not need balancing so they were left alone.  Version 1 of my projects I never uploaded because it didn't sound right to me.  Version 2 sounded right through the PC speakers (and was shared here) but it wasn't.  So this is Version 3 and should be the final rendition I make of the show.

This is a show I've had for many years, lost, got other copies of, and eventually found my copy of it once again.  And with all of the copies, it's one I haven't listened to much because I consider it to be good sounding.  While that may sound strange to you, I classify "good" as a step above "poor".

But yesterday, on the show's 32nd anniversary, I started working on and remastering a lossless copy I got from my friend "Tales" a few months ago.  And the results made for a "great" (one step above "good") sounding show.  In fact, it turned out much better than I'd planned.  And just as a reference, here's my grading scale:

Poor = 1 - 3

Good = 4 - 6
Great = 7 - 8
Excellent = 9 - 10
Superb = 10+

As I made note of in the setlist, the audio changes in the last four tracks.  I'm not sure what the reason may be for it?  On the first copy of the show I reworked, I amplified (without clipping) the last four tracks as I was wrapping up that project.  But I then went ahead and did audio amplification on each track that needed it using Audacity and made another copy which is this one I'm uploading.  I can't say for sure if the original source I got had any clipping to begin with, but as I was EQ'ing the show, I brought down the master audio levels 2 db and then did the work I did from that point.  I was attempting to clean up tape hiss as well as maintain the high end of the audio and bring out the vocals and instruments better.  And while I'm not claiming this is the definitive copy of this show, it sounds a lot better than what I started with.

If you've ever had one of the copies of this show circulating over the decades, you know it never had excellent sound to begin with.  But I'm pleased with how this job turned out.  I'm always looking for a known generation or better remastering job of any show I have collected.  So if you have an upgrade, please let me know or post it.  But I'm sure this copy should sound better than any of the recordings of this show I've ever heard have.  And the show is complete too!

I hope you enjoy the concert...

Rush: 1994-01-18 Pensacola, FL (FLAC_SB Rehearsals Master_2 CD)

This si a superb+ recording shared on Dime back in 2005 and then re-seeded again today.  This is the band's almost complete show/setlist rehearsals four days before their Pensacola, Florida concerts began.  The recording sounds like a studio recording because (a) it is a soundboard and (b) there is no crowd noise.  This is something you'll definitely want if you're a Rush fan and you do not have it yet!

Rush is a very talented band!  They're true musicians in all aspects of music.  And this rehearsal soundboard is a great sample into how talented the band is.  And this is just their informal rehearsal four days before the concerts began too.

Most bands do a few tracks from all over the sprectrum as they do their sound check.  They'll play a song, stop mid stream, move on to another song, and a lot of times they play songs not even in their setlist or songs they ever made (other artists music).  But here, Rush sticks to their setlist (with a few additional changes, errors, and other goodies).  There is total silence between songs other than an occasional comment heard between some songs as well as during some songs too.  This is what is called an informal recording.  There is no pressure to please an audience or anyone other than themselves and the guy running the soundboard so they can get everything set up right for the live show.

Rush is a group with a sense of humor I've noticed in my years of listening to them.  Both onstage and off stage, the guys have a great sense of humor that is easily spotted at shows and in interviews.  They seem to be just three laid back musicians that are not uptight or egotistical at all.  And with the exceptional talent they have musically as well as some of the best shows of any artists from the past and present days; their laid back and humorous attitude is just like the icing on the cake.  And I respect them for that.

Thanks to "jtm9734" for re-seeding this show earlier today because I'd never heard it nor had it.  I'm burning it to disc as soon as I finish this upload.  And I've been listening to it as I prepare this posting and get everything ready for the upload.  It's a superb+ recording as I started off saying in the first paragraph and I'm sure you'll agree.

I'm sure you'll enjoy this rehearsal show from days before before their first Pensacola show in 1994 on their Counterparts album tour...

Page & Plant: 1995-10-26 New York, NY (FLAC_AUD Source 2 Master_2 CD)

This is a superb recording of the October 26th, 1995 Page & Plant show.  While I'm more a fan of their 1996 ending of their No Quarter world tour through their 1998 world tour, this show sounds great and very Zeppelin like.  I have had this show for a while but have not listened to it all the way through before.  I really like this "Since I've Been Loving You" version too.  I'll have to check it out in its entirety later today.

The sound in this recording is outstanding and it really sounds like a soundboard throughout the show (from what I've listened to).  Robert Plant's vocals are up front as well as Jimmy Page's guitar playing too.  The mix and balance of all instruments and vocals are so good that it makes the show sound like a soundboard.  And it sounds as if the audience noise is not around the taper and very low too.  It's an excellent capture of the show and a very sharp sounding listening experience.

I hope you enjoy the show...

I hate having to upload this show as an mp3.  But since the only two copies I've ever found after losing my discs and a hard drive with lossless quality versions of it a number of years back, this is all I have and I'm grateful for it!.  This is a really excellent recording and one I hope and pray I will find again someday soon in it's native (lossless) state again.

This is an incredible show and one that has a totally different setlist in the order in which this show's setlist was played as well as some of the songs in it.  This may have been the only time Journey played "Little Girl" which is one song they'd made for a Japanese movie soundtrack.  Dream After Dream, the Japan released LP of Journey's soundtrack for the movie, is a rare import even today.  Thankfully I got the LP, another half-speed mastered copy of it, as well as a couple of cassette tapes for it back in the 1980's.  And I finally got the official CD version of Dream After Dream at the Austin Record Convention in 1999.  The music is very Journey on the soundtrack, but at the same time, it displays a completely different side of Journey's musical talent too.  "Little Girl", "When The Love Has Gone" (also in this show's setlist), and "Destiny" (I'd love to find a live version of this if it was ever played live) were probably my three favorite songs off of the Dream After Dream LP.

Journey was touring on their new album Escape when this show was performed on 1981-07-27 and this was their first official concert of the Escape tour.  Journey had played the Mountain Aire event in California a month earlier where they showcased a few songs from Escape, their upcoming new release, as well as Jonathan Cain which was the band's newest member.  But the Escape LP was not released until 1981-07-31, or four days after this Osaka show!  So this show is a gem from a historical standpoint as well as an audible excellence standpoint too.  And on the day Journey was playing their first Tokyo show on the Escape tour, which was four days later and on the day the Escape LP was released in America, many of the songs had changed in their setlist of their live shows.  In fact, this Osaka show I'm uploading doesn't even have "Don't Stop Believin'" in it.  I think the whole concert is here.  It's possible a song or two was played prior to when the taper started recording, but I don't think so from comments Steve Perry makes as they start playing "Stone in Love" which is the first track in this recording.

Steve Perry's vocals are astounding in this show as well as each and every member's playing.  There is also two more rarities in this show.  One is the song Jonathan Cain wrote when he was with The Babys which was the band he left to join Journey when Gregg Rolie retired from Journey.  That sonmg is titled "Turn Around Tokyo", and even though Journey played it in a few shows in 1981, it wasn't commonly played in their concerts.  The other rarity is the beginning intro Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon play leading into the song "Too Late".  This is one of my favorite ways Journey opened or transitioned into "Too Late" on a few occasions during 1981.  I know in the 1981-09-05 East Troy, Wisconsin show and a few other shows we have recordings off, they did it this way.  It is definitely a mood setting intro into a song than influenced me in my earlier years to make a change in my own life before it was "too late to make a change".

I love this show, the quality of it, and I'd give just about anything to find a replacement lossless copy of it!  So, if you're reading this and know where I can get a lossless quality copy, please, please let me know in a comment.

There are some split second gaps between tracks that are in all copies of the show as far as I know.  I'm not sure if the taper paused the tape recorder between songs or if the transfer originally done may be the source.  I wonder if the original transfer might have been done using the disc-at-once (DAO) method that puts 2 seconds of silence between tracks and then someone later tried removing the silence but didn't fully do so.  The split second gaps don't ruin the show, and since this is reported as an mp3 copy of the master, I'm confident it is on all copies of the show available.

You're going to enjoy this show if you're a Journey live music lover (even if it is an mp3 version)...

Fleetwood Mac: 1980-08-11 Mobile, AL (FLAC_SB_1 CD)

Here's another  superb sounding Fleetwood Mac soundboard from a show they did in Mobile, Alabama in 1980.  I finally listened to it (after years of having it) earlier this morning and it sounds superb.  Too bad it's not the complete show.  I may wind up uploading a full, 2 disc Fleetwood Mac show next?

As the 1980's hit, Fleetwood Mac's Lindsay Buckingham started introducing what I call weird songs into the setlist and LP's.  Some were really good, some were not!  And some were just very strange too.  This recording has some examples of what I'm talking about.  I don't hate it at all, but I do wish they'd left those songs out on this recording and added some of the one's they did leave out like "Oh Daddy".  However, this is still a great recording that shows the transitioning of Fleetwood Mac as they moved into their 1980's music.

I hope you enjoy this1980 Fleetwood Mac show...

I noticed a short and small digital error in a track near the latter half of the CD that isn't on my old CD-R trade copy.  However, since this copy I'm uploading sounds a lot better, I'm not messing with it.  It's nothing show ruining or too bad and it only lasts for about 2 - 3 seconds.

The artwork I'm adding to this show is a high resolution scan of some obviously lower resolution artwork I received with my trade CD back in the 1990's.  It isn't necessarily the correct artwork but it is a perfect match setlist and information wise.  I have a second set of artwork for this show too, and for all I know, it may have been for this copy I'm uploading?  But since I'm unable to find it I have to use the older (presumably) artwork that I scanned to files back in the '90's.  Like I always do, if I can find better artwork I'll upload it and post it here when (or if) I find it.

This obviously isn't the full Baton Rouge concert either.  But since it's all that has surfaced as far as I've ever seen, it is all I have.  And it does sound excellent too!

I hope you enjoy this1978 Fleetwood Mac show...

Fleetwood Mac: 1977-05-18 Oklahoma City, OK (FLAC_SB_1 CD

This is an excellent sounding Fleetwood Mac concert from an Oklahoma City show they did in 1977.  This show is just over a week away from it's 37th anniversary too.  But rather than wait a week to upload it and find something else from today's historic date in music history, I'm uploading it now.

I normally like to completely check out a show before I upload it.  But that isn't the case in this upload.  I'm going to burn it to CD-R after I upload it and check it out later today when I can turn it up a little.  I have gone through and listened to a few songs as well as check the audio specifications and other important factors.  I've had this show for a long time, but like so many others, I've never heard it myself yet.  So it seems like a good show to share and check out myself today too.  We can both hear it for the first time!

I've always been a fan of the 1975 through 1980's Fleetwood Mac music and I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to finally check this show out.  I've got a lot of their shows from this era (and others) that I really haven't listened to yet.  As I go through them I'll upload some of the better ones like this one.  I may even upload the Baton Rouge, Louisiana 1978 show I've had since the 1990's or the more recent (possibly better sounding) copy of it I recently found later today.

While Fleetwood Mac, or at least most of the band's famous era members, came back and started touring once again in 2013, I've only listened to one concert of theirs from 2013.  And it sounded great.  But like any band from the past that plays their classics as they tour today, even though they sound great, they just never sound like they did in their heyday!  It's great to hear them still playing live nowadays, but it's a little better to go back and hear them from the past once again too.

I hope you enjoy this almost 37 year old show...

Page & Plant: 1996-02-13 Tokyo, Japan (Pro Shot or AUD Shot DVD w/ SB LPCM Audio_DL DVD)

This is a superb DL DVD of the Page & Plant Tokyo, Japan show in 1996 as they were getting close to wraping up their world tour that started in 1995.  They still played Australia after the Japan shows, but these shows were some of the last ones as they were finishing off their world tour and they are the best because the band started playing like Led Zeppelin again and were not concentrating so much on the Middle Eastern sound they'd overused in the earlier 1995 shows.  The audience or pro shot video camera used in this concert (and many others too) is a professional camera  and is tripod mounted too.  But the icing on the cake is the soundboard LPCM audio that was used for this DVD project.

This show is superb in my opinion and it was when Page & Plant started playing the songs sounding like Zeppelin again.  Prior to their 1996 shows at the end of he tour, I was really disappointed by how much of the Egyptian Pharaohs (touring with them) sound they'd put into songs and the way they were sounding and being played.  The ruined "No Quarter" with the way they were playing it.  But I imagine they realized this and by the end of the tour, and all throughout the 1998 tour, they played the songs sounding very Zeppelin like.  The Egyptian Pharaohs, the orchestrated music which allowed Page and Plant to play many songs correctly, were a great addition.  But at the same time they took away from Page and Plant's talent when they were overused in their 1995 concerts.  But once a fine balance had been made, and the band started playing songs like Led Zeppelin would have, they sounded superb.  The feeling of the music returned as did the length of songs and the add-on parts and the music sounded much more like it use to up through the 1980 ending of Led Zeppelin.

This is the most Led Zeppelin sounding show I know of from their 1995/96 world tour and it is a must have for any Page, Plant, or Led Zeppelin fan.

This really is a superb looking and sounding show and it contains some of the bands best playing (as well as songs not in earlier shows) for the whole 1995/96 world tour.  This show was almost 12 years before Led Zeppelin returned to the stage on December 10th, 2007 for a true reunion with John Paul Jones on bass and keyboards and Jason Bonham on drums too.

And speaking of drummers, Michael Lee, the drummer for both the 1995/96 and 1998 Page & Plant tours, is incredible.  He is one of the closest "John Bonham sounding" drummers Page or Plant have ever worked with.  He was a hard hitting and accurate drummer and comes closer to sounding like John Bonham than any other drummer I've heard.  Unfortunately, and at the age of 39 in 2008, Michael Lee died from a heart problem just 5 days after his 39th birthday.  Lee was a very accomplished drummer and had played with a number of larger, well known bands in his earlier years.  But after being Robert Plant's drummer during many of his solo tours and studio releases, he then went on to be the studio and live drummer for Page & Plant on their world tours.  He was incredible, and as you'll see in this show being uploaded, he knew how to sound like John Bonham more so than even Jason Bonham, the late John Bonham's son, did at the time.

Had Page and Plant decided to ask John Paul Jones to join the 1995 - 1998 Page & Plant tours and recordings, and with Michael Lee as their drummer, this would have been the prime time to have reunited Led Zeppelin and toured sounding like Led Zeppelin.  But it didn't happen that way.  And in 2007, 11 months before Michael Lee's death, Jason Bonham (sounding very good I might add) was who they used when the real Led Zeppelin members reunited for their one, last concert.  And with Jason Bonham on drums, they sounded great.  I understand too why it was best to use Jason Bonham for their final show and reunion.  Besides keeping it in the family, Jason Bonham had really matured by this time and knew the music as well as anyone (even better than Plant and Page in some cases).  And I am glad they ended things this way and on that note too.

Wikipedia has some interesting information and histroy on Michael Lee if anyone cares to read about him.  And after you see this show, I bet you will find him more interesting and magnificent too.  If so, check out Wikipedia's Michael Lee page here!

I hope you enjoy the superb show...

Jimmy Page: 1988-09-17 Mesa, AZ (Pro Shot DVD)

This is a great, one camera pro shot DVD of Jimmy Page's 1988 Phoenix, Arizona show on his 1988 Outrider LP tour.  The DVD starts off with a Jimmy Page interview, some other interviews, and a cute girl who won the Les Paul guitar and got it signed by Page as she met him before the show.  I've had a copy of this show on DVD for about 7 or 8 years but this is a definite upgrade!

Much of the video on this DVD is MTV reel film and I'm not sure what the story is on the one camera shot/angle video that this DVD is made up of (for the concert).  Actually, and I'm going to watch it again to make sure, I think there may be another camera angle a few times in the show.  But for the most part, it's one camera for the concert I do recall.  I'm guessing here, but I believe the camera angle we have for this DVD is another MTV camera.  I'm not sure if this show was ever aired live or later on MTV, but if it was, I've yet to see it or hear of it anywhere.  I imagine if this is MTV's reel we have here that it was being filmed by them for use on MTV News or something like that where just clips of the show were used in the MTV airing of news or commercials for the concert.  If anyone has any more insight as to the film, please leave a comment and let the rest of us know.

As I mentioned at the beginning, this is an upgrade to the copy I built a DVD of years ago.  The video is better and the already good audio is better too.  Thanks goes to "TTrichardson" for reseeding this show over on Dime.  This version he uploaded of the show has a nice menu and is much better than I was expecting it to be.  In fact, I was worried it wouldn't be as nice as the DVD I built but boy was I wrong :-)

I added some DVD artwork for this show to the upload after I posted it because that's when I found it.  So it is not in the uploaded zipped files.  I do not know if the artwork you can grab below, which is the Cosmic Energy "Raising Arizona" titled artwork, is this uploaded version.  Cosmic may or may not have an LPCM audio version but I cannot confirm this at this time.

I hope you enjoy the show...

Led Zeppelin: 1971-08-23 Fort Worth, TX (FLAC_AUD_2 CD)

This is a superb performance Led Zeppelin put on at the Tarrant County Convention Center in Fort Worth in 1971.  This is the very best version of this show I've heard too.  Jimmy Page is on fire this night and he is playing stuff that is spectacular and I don't think he repeated ever again (or before).  At least the majority of it I've never heard since or prior to this night!

While this show's lineage has been remastered, I don't see any signs of any EQ work being done on it by pernod.  Still, it sounds better than my 1990's CD-R trade version of "Hot August Nights" (this same source).  Whatever the reason may be, this is the best version I've heard and even better (a lot) than the unverified master source which I also believe is not as complete as TDOLZ's release.

I added a folder for my artwork scans (gigh resolution) as well as the low resolution, smaller internet downloads too.  The reason I added the low resolution artwork is because one of the back artwork images has the spines/tabs on it for use in a CD case that this type of artwork fits in.  I'd created the same type of thing in the past but cannot find my high resolution scans of what I created with a spine.

Also included in this upload (by pernod originally) are two text files.  One is a reported interview with the taper from the Led Zeppelin publication and web site Proximity.  The other text file has reviews on the show.  I didn't do anything to this pernod remaster other than add some artwork to the file set.

This is an incredible performance and it is a shame that the whole show wasn't recorded.  But I know you will like it if you're a Zeppelin fan...

Paul McCartney & Wings: 1976-05-03 Fort Worth, TX (FLAC_AUD_Bootradr Remaster_2 CD)

This is an excellent sounding show from the first night of the Paul McCarteny & Wings tour (or so says Paul McCartney) in 1976.  I've had this show for ages but it needed a little work.  It didn't need any type of equalizing though.  It was two files I've had that were not tracked and had very little to almost no information with them.  And since today is the 38th anniversary of this show, what better time to give it a little TLC and share it with others?

The artwork has the first four tracks grouped together as one track.  So needless to say (but I'm doing it anyways), the artwork is not a perfect match for CD 1.

When I was first listening to this show last night, I thought it was a soundboard until I heard the between songs clapping and small chatter.  Whoever recorded this show must have been in the front row because there is very little audience noise at all.  You can hear the audience very well when the songs aren't playing, but during the muic, it is like listening to a soundboard throughout most of the show.  And the mix is great.  Paul McCartney's voice and the instruments are all up front and in your face.

I did not EQ this show at all.  I just made the edits it needed and did the work on making it presentable.  It's obviously been released as a bootleg CD before because their is artwork for it.  And I'm guessing that wherever/whoever I got it from many years ago just took each CD and made a one track rips of each disc.  Why, I have no clue?

Anyhow, this is a great sounding show and something a little different to upload for a change. I hope you enjoy it...
