Led Zeppelin: 1969-03-15 Brondby, Denmark (FLAC_AUD Master_1 CD)

This is a case where I rate a show as superb but it is not based solely on sound.  This Led Zeppelin show from 46 years ago today is a high energy, excellent sounding capture of their evening (or second) concert on this day and it was in a different city and venue too.  It is shows like this one that put Led Zeppelin on the charts in everyone's LP collection early on.

This is the "pernod Revised" copy taken from the master audience tape.  I like the work "pernod" does on the shows he revises.  I believe he's got a great ear and a great knowledge of audio too and can bring out the best in a show as well as fix any problems that may exist in a recording.  And this show is no exception either.  It has not been EQ'ed!

In his revision of shows, "pernod" usually (maybe always?) does not EQ the original audio.  A lot of people, myself included, would rather get the audio without alterations to the sound (or EQ work) and then do their own work if need be.  And "pernod" also fixed an audio issue that had been in the left channel of this source recording and he speed corrected the audio as well.

Rather than retype in my own words what "pernod" did to make this show sound better, I'm copying and pasting his notes on what he did in this revision of the master audio recording.

Revision Notes by "pernod" (copy & paste)
--------------------------------------------------
"The original source is unbalanced and suffers from clipping. The right channel is stronger than the left and doesn't clip as much, this being a mono recording the best solution was to copy the right channel to left as this took care of the channel imbalance and part of the clipping."

--------------------------------------------------

This is a very strong and clean sounding recording now and I love this short show because I can hear it better and without the audio clipping and balance issues present in many other copies of the show sourced from this tape.  And it is running at the correct speed too.

Thanks goes to "pernod" for doing this work back on 2013-02-18!

Here are some different notes from the original master tape share.  And once again, I'm copying and pasting them so they will read exactly the same without any paraphrasing or translating by me.

--------------------------------------------------
"Notes that came with the original files:
These are the definitive untouched versions of the audience recordings from Led Zeppelin's 1969 Scandinavian Tour, unless something else has popped up that I missed!

These discs were treed years ago by the great RFD. I do not know the number DAT copies in the lineage.  I do know there is no CDR copy in the lineage of my discs, think that 3/15/69 DAT came from the taper & know that the bootleg company EVSD stole this from the tree.
The files were extracted from Kodak Gold CDRs with EAC V0.95 beta 4 & converted with FLAC Frontend 113b at Level 8.
"

--------------------------------------------------

Led Zeppelin also played an earlier show 46 years ago today at the Teen Club in Gladaxe, Denmark.  I uploaded the EVSD Led Zeppelin Is A Gas copy mentioned above last year on this show's anniversary and it contains both the afternoon and evening shows.  It should be easy to search for and find with the "Search" box in the upper left of my website.  Just do a search for "1969-03-15" and it will pull the EVSD copy of both shows up (and likely a few other unrelated posts too) .

I hope you enjoy the show...

  1. Thanks Bootradr's for sharing this one. You always bring us the best source. BTW, I love hear Led Zepp in his early days. The boys were hungry and on fire on these days.
Best regards & keep the great job here! K.

    1. I too love their early years a LOT! My favorite era of Led Zeppelin was the 1969-1975 shows. But like you said, those early ones were spectacular and they were touring like crazy making up new setlists and versions of songs and each night was a different story even in the same cities as they played multiple nights in a row many times...
