I'm adding my complete high resolution (300 dpi) artwork scans too from when I scanned them to my PC's artwork library way back on 2000-11-20.

This is my third version of the 1969-10-30 show and it is not as complete as EVSD's "When The Glass Was Broken" or the 2nd generation "Live At The Music Hall In Buffalo".  Those two recordings have "Moby Dick" on them and "Buffalo Sixtynine" doesn't.  The other two recordings also show "Good Times Bad Times" on the artwork but it's just the short intro into "Communication Breakdown" and it, as well as the band's introduction, is in this upload too.  "How Many More Times" ends after about 11 minutes on all recordings I've heard and I imagine (but again do not know for sure) this is the same for any label's or generation's version.  I'm guessing the tape just ran out!

Summarizing the previous paragraph, it seems this "Buffalo Sixtynine" upload has everything (even though it is tracked differently on other recordings) the other versions do except for "Moby Dick".  And "Buffalo Sixtynine" claims to be in stereo too but I imagine it is the "fake stereo".

I hope you enjoy the recording...

This is an excellent selection of excellent sounding recordings.  I really like the quality of the Long Beach 1972 show's soundboard tracks.  Where's the full soundboard at?  And I love the studio takes of one of my favorite songs, "No Quarter".  The first two takes are instrumental but the third, final take, has Plant's vocals too and is extended.  It carries on longer than the officially released version of "No Quarter" and has some other instrumental parts in the song that didn't make the cut on Led Zeppelin's debut LP.  I like it better than the official release personally.

As always, I hope you enjoy the show...

I've collected a number of versions of this show (both 1 CD and 2 CD versions & soundboard and audience sourced versions) over the years and will probably get them all together sometime soon and upload the most complete version of this show.  I do not think (I'll double check though) a complete soundboard of this show has ever surfaced.  However, I do have a more complete soundboard than this version too.  The 2 CD versions consist of the soundboard part of the show that has surfaced (i.e. what's on this CD) and the audience part(s) of the show mixed together to form an almost complete version from what I recall.

Other than the 1971 Toronto soundboard, the other (first) two tracks are superb studio tracks from November of 1969 of the song "Jennings Farm Blues".  It's a great instrumental song with some excellent Jimmy Page guitar in it as well as John Paul Jones bass and John Bonham drum playing too.

I've already uploaded an excellent 2 CD, 2nd generation audience recording of this show if anyone's interested in it.  It can be found at http://bootradr.blogspot.com/2013/09/led-zeppelin-1971-09-04-toronto-ontario.html.

I hope you enjoy the recording...

Journey: 2013-03-11 Tokyo, Japan (Pro Shot DL DVD)

Here is an excellent pro shot Journey show that surfaced recently.  Thanks to "tupchurch" for alerting me to it!  It has great Dolby 2 channel sound and the video is clean and clear.  The only thing unusual is it looks as if it was possibly recorded from an HD digital video broadcast (DVB) but with a standard definition DVR?  Either that, or it was a 4:3 ratio picture that was stretched to 16:9 when the original transfer or DVD build was made.  It's not a big deal and doesn't ruin the show at all.

The original DL DVD of this show had chapters at 3 minute intervals and not at song beginnings and no menus.  I didn't create any menus but I did create chapters (at the songs) with Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 and built a new DL DVD.  I did not render the video at all so it's the same exact quality as the original source both in video and audio.  The DVD starts off with some bonus material discussed below.

This DL DVD has some interesting bonus material at the very beginning of it.  Both Neal Schon's son and Jonathan Cain's daughter are on stage playing before Journey's show.  I'm guessing they were the opening act?  I'm not sure how many songs American Beauty, the band's name, may have done because it seems to be an incomplete set they play.  Miles Schon and Madison Cain start mid song as the DVD begins and their last song is cut off just as it begins (right at 3 minutes total time of their music).  They are performing with a second guitarist who is introduced (it sounds like) as Brad Layton possibly.  Miles Schon is playing what looks like his dad's guitar while singing backup vocals and Madison Cain is doing the lead singing.  The third guitarist is playing an acoustic guitar and singing backup vocals too.

This is a really great quality DVD and thanks goes out to "activatorico" for sharing it!  I'd planned on redoing the DVD where it was the right aspect ratio and not stretched, but I've still not got that method down as of yet so I couldn't do it after trying.  Plus, I would have had to crop it and rendered it in this process too so it's probably better left as is.  I still wish I could've built a DVD version like that also!  But like I already mentioned, it doesn't ruin this excellent show and I think most everyone who gets it will love it!

Here's one last note before finishing.  The artwork has another bonus track listed but it isn't on the DVD.  The Jonathan Cain matrix bonus track #1 was not on the DVD but could not be removed from the artwork created.  So this is just a heads up so people don't think they're missing something in the download :-)

Enjoy the show...

Aerosmith: 1980-01-25 Largo, MD (Pro Shot DVD)

This is one of the best shows I've seen in my life!  It is excellent in quality but beyond superb in performance.  I'd say this one is a must have for any classic rock collector due to how powerful of a performance this show was.

I never have been a huge Aerosmith fan.  Don't get me wrong!  I like them, but other than their 1973 to about 1978 era of music, I thought they got lazy and sloppy.  And in the 1980's when songs like "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)", "Love In The elavator", and "Janie's Got A Gun" came out, well, I thought they not only lost their minds but I hated their songs.  It wasn't rock 'n' roll to me and I quit paying any attention to their music.  So needless to say, I wasn't collecting it through the years other than a few old, beginning of the band recordings from 1973 and 1974.

I almost didn't get this Largo 1980 DVD because I knew Joe Perry was not in the band and I recalled this era of Aerosmith being their drug induced days.  Man, I'm glad I went ahead and got it!  This is the best Aerosmith I've ever seen and the songs are tight, rockin', and there's no chit chat wasting time between songs.  They rock on without much talk through the entire show.  I was blown away by how great Joe Perry's replacement is and how much more vibrant and energetic it made the band.  This is definitely (in my book) Aerosmith at their finest before they sold out to whatever it was they started playing in the years to follow.  If I'd named this DVD I would have called it "Aerosmith's Last Stand".

I'm not going to continue knocking down the mid-to-later 1980's Aerosmith I hate so much because I know there are other people who may like this era of their music.  But if you're looking for that style of show and song, you do not want this DVD.  I may upload the 1988 Houston Summit Aerosmith show for you later if that's what you're interested in (a superb quality 5.1 Dolby Digital show too).

I realize nowadays Aerosmith did make some good music even during the years they made what I believe is some of their worse.  But to me, none of it comes close to how great this show is.

Back in July of 1979, guitarist Joe Perry left the band as they took a break during a live concert in Cleveland.  He was eventually replaced by Jimmy Crespo.  The Crespo and Whiford guitar playing in this show is 80% of what makes it so good.  Steven Tyler, the lead singer, collapsed on stage not too long after this show being uploaded and the band, while obviously having a good thing going at the time, was falling apart primarily from drug abuse.  In the years that followed, Joe Perry returned and Aerosmith got their act together (a few more times) and continued on.  But they lost the fire in my opinion that they had between 1973 and this very rare, historic show in 1980 that I'm uploading now.  So you can see why I call this "Aerosmith's Last Stand" because to me it really was!

Enjoy the show...

Survivor: 1997-01-24 South Amboy, NJ (FLAC_AUD Master_Bootradr Remaster_2 CD)

This is an excellent-to-superb recording of what was being called "Jimi Jamison's Survivor" for their short lived tour.  This is Survivor, and even though the name was a little different for the band, people still called them "Survivor".

Thanks goes to (name omitted as of 2013-11-23) for getting this master recording and sharing it with others!  I took the recording shared by (name omitted as of 2013-11-23) of Mark B's master and cleaned it up.  I like the sound of this show and it is a full 1 hour, 44 minutes almost of Survivor with Jamison at this venue in New Jersey back in 1997.

Here is some addition information posted by (name omitted as of 2013-11-23) on this era of Survivor:
This is a "Survivor" show but should actually be billed as "Jimi Jamison's  Survivor" since these shows were the basis of a legal dispute between this version of Survivor and the "real" Survivor (which Jamison is back in now).  Like a good soap opera this tale has many twists and turns!

Whatever the story may be for the short-lived Jimi Jamison's Survivor, this capture is as good as it gets and the show is very entertaining.  It sounds as if the venue isn't very big and the crowd, even though enjoying the show it sounds like, is not very loud.  You got to love that when your recording a show and/or listening to one that is an audience recording.

I primarily brought up the vocals and highs slightly and left the bass side as is.  I used a filter making the environment seem more as if you were there in the recording too.  It was flat sounding on the high end and needed the EQ work as well as the filter to give it this sound that is an improvement.  It sounds much more balanced now and I think you will like it too.  And as always, if anyone's interested in the unaltered master recording, just leave a comment and when I see it I'll upload it here too.  They are both excellent versions but I am confident my mix is more enjoyable and cleaner sounding than the master recording on it's own.

Until next time...

Led Zeppelin: 1975-03-17 Seattle, WA (FLAC_SB_Bootradr Remaster_3 CD)

This is a superb recording of one night of Zeppelin's Seattle 1975 shows that I equalized and cleaned up a little.  I didn't make any drastic changes, but to me, the audio is much better and not over driven on the bass as the original (still superb sounding) EVSD label's copy is.

I know, remastering may be the wrong term in this case.  Call it what you want.  I redid the sound to make it easier on the ears and speakers and I cleaned up some of the external factors too so it can be listened to loud without any over-driven results as best as I could at the time.

I don't often rework already great sounding shows.  But in this case, I did and I believe it helps a lot.  This is one of the best 1975 tour shows in my opinion too.  John Paul Jones' bass is very up front (and clean) in this show.  It sounds as if the mixing board recorded his bass a little louder than usual in this show and it makes for a nice, superior change when compared to many of the 1975 shows.

I can always upload the unaltered EVSD version too if anyone cares to leave a comment and let me know if they want it.

This is one of Page's more "try something new" nights I believe.  He puts some guitar in there that I'm not sure he used in any other shows.  And the songs are played more in a "jam on" style than usual too.  In other words, they run a little (or a lot) longer due to all the improvised playing they add in this show.  The band in in unison this night and they are really tight in playing off of each other.  It was a superb show as well as a superb recording that occurred on this night.  This show is a must have for any Zeppelin fan!

Part 2 - 1971-11-16 Ipswich, UK (AUD/Group Project)

This show has three confirmed sources (recordings) of it with a fourth source reportedly surfacing (and used for the patches here) making the show almost (more?) complete.  In the past, the three sources available were all cut short during "Whole Lotta Love" and the rest of the concert was unavailable.  But thankfully, that has changed!  There are rumors that Zeppelin did one last song not on any recording (as of yet anyhow).  While it cannot be confirmed now, the rumor states they also added "Communication Breakdown" as the very last song.  Who knows?

I went through six labels and sources I have for this show and chose this one to upload for two reasons.  (1) I think it has the best sound and (2) it seems to be the most complete.  Either way, the project builders did an excellent job on the show's mix and patch work and it sounds better than EVSD's "Feelin' Groovy Definitive Edition" and TDOLZ's "Ipswich 1971" which are what I have primarily listened to most times over the years.

One thing I really like about this group project is the clarity in Plant's voice in the primary source as well as how the balancing of the mix is pretty equal.  Page's guitar, Plant's vocals, Bonham's drums, and John Paul Jones' bass (might want to turn up bass or sub-woofer slightly) are all heard equally for the most part.  It's a really good mix when listening.

I've been trying to nail down which source goes with which label and version of the show and it is all over the place using the various resources.  Even the EVSD source used in this project has parts of the three confirmed sources (or three different recordings) throughout it.  And if there is a source 4, then it is what is being used in the project patches in this project.  Since there are so many conflicting reports as to which is source 1, source 3, etc; I'm not even going to add that information.  If I'm not sure, then I'm not going to put it here until I am.  I'll update this post if the information ever becomes more precise and agreeable by the collecting community.  I'm also leaving the original uploader's info file intact and in this upload for further references.

Until next time...
