Frank Marino: 1983-11-XX Fort Worth, TX (FLAC_SB Remastered_2 CD)

This is a requested artist from a long time back and this show is an excellent sounding remaster of Frank Marino's November 1983 Fort Worth concert.

I felt kind of bad since it has taken so long to finally get this up and I asked "techtuts" if he'd take a stab at doing a remaster on the original audio just to clean it up.  And he did a wonderful job and made this sound so much better than it originally did sound.  And it originally sounded great too.

The waveform looks great and has no audio clipping.  The sound originally was really nice but a little flat and missing the high end frequencies I thought.  After the remaster the highs and all around range of the sound was so much better.  The guitar sounds really nice and things such as the drums are really clean and sharp sounding as well.

I'm not sure if this is the full show or not?  I know this isn't a complete show in the sense that the song "Strange Universe" cuts out at 11:30 (which is also the end of CD 1).  There is a few seconds of silence at the beginning of the next song/disc so this cut may very well have been in the soundboard itself?  "Johnny B. Good" also cuts out at 14 minutes before ending, but it does sound like it was getting close to the end too.

Frank Marino is known for putting on some long shows at times.  I've had friends tell me of shows in the last decade or so they attended where he played for over three hours.  They had to leave before the concert ended due to needing to get some sleep before they had to be at work the next morning.

You don't see too many Frank Marino shows out there.  And some of the ones I have got are not exactly the best sounding too.  That's one reason I was glad this Fort Worth 1983 show did sound excellent.  Over time, I'll upload more excellent sounding shows from Marino and maybe even some "not so excellent" sounding ones too :-)

I hope you enjoy the show...

  1. Hi, thank you for this wonderful show! Living in Europe, seeing Frank play is not evident (saw him in Belgium in 1983). And finding good shows is not so easy. So, thanks again, and looking forward for other shows of Frank - peace Chris
