Led Zeppelin: 1973-05-19 Fort Worth, TX (FLAC_SB 2nd Gen _2 CD)

This is a show requested about two months ago and one I can't believe I haven't uploaded here before.  This is the Winston Remasters copy of the Fort Worth 1973-05-19 Led Zeppelin concert and I believe it is the best sounding copy at this point.

As with many of the 1973 Led Zeppelin soundboards, this is not the full show and we only have up through "Stairway to Heaven" from the concert.  The recording is the majority of the show but it is missing the last tracks like "Whole Lotta Love" (and others) that closed out the show.

LINEAGE:
1st Gen cassette > VHS > Remaster > FLAC >
me > TLH > WAV (to test for lossiness) > Audacity (to view waveform, embed metadata/track titles & info, and then to re-encode) > FLAC 8 > TLH (to check for SBE's and create and verify new ffp & md5 files) > you

Winston Remasters Notes:

As with a lot of the Winston Remasters, and as I have mentioned in posts before, this is my favorite copy of the show and it sounds like it has the best mix and work done on it to bring out the concert in an excellent form.

I am leaving this show's lineage listed as Winston Remasters did and that is it is a second generation copy of the show.  However; a note I recently saw claims that Winston Remasters said this project is actually sourced from a third generation cassette.  That would make this recording a fourth generation final project if it is true.  The information I saw is something I have not verified the authenticity of.  So until I see Winston Remasters stating this information is correct, I am leaving it as the original information (in the lineage above) stated by Winston Remasters claims it is.  And either way, it still sounds like the best copy of the show I have heard and it sounds excellent too.

There was a recent fan remaster of this Winston Remasters file set.  However, it didn't sound as good to me and there were issues like audio clipping and sector boundary errors (SBE's) created in the new project.  I'm not knocking the recent remastering project at all.  I'm just stating the facts and saying which remaster I think is the better copy personally.  The person that worked on the 2015 remastering of this Winston Remasters copy has shared a lot of great Led Zeppelin shows this year and I appreciate that.  And as of June (I believe) 2015, they started remastering a lot of the shows they shared.  I appreciate their effort and work but I am still going to honestly state my opinions and observations at all times.  We all have what we think sounds better or worse.  And in no way am I putting their project down.  I've made quite a few "remasters" over the years that  I later learned I had made mistakes on (like clipping audio).  And you may like the 2015 remaster better too?  The high frequencies sound nice in certain songs.  But they also are likely where the EQ work done caused the clipping.  The only reason I even mention this is so that anyone looking at this show can compare and see which version of the show they may have because they are both going by the title Mr. Soundman and stem from Winston Remasters project (one being his project obviously).

I hope you enjoy the show...

  1. This is definitely the best sounding boot of this show! I really wish that Liquid Led Productions did more boots. They way the master is just so much better than any other label! That Canadian Crush is the best SBD i have ever heard! If you compare it to other labels it doesnt come close!!! And as well, Keeper Of The Season MSG 1975 the 12th. The LLP of that show is much better than others. I have only found LLP label boots for zep in 1975tho I really wish they did more 75 mastering and 73!!! Thanks mate!!!!
