Journey: 2001-01-30 Tokyo, Japan (FLAC_AUD_2 CD)

Here is the first night's show from Journey's 2001 Arrival tour in Japan.  This is another excellent sounding show and a good, long one too.  It has a great mix of tracks and I like the band's energy on this opening night too.

With these different shows at the open up in the Japan shows, the band plays a great mix of their music.  They play a lot of the songs on different nights of course, but nevertheless, the mix up the setlist nicely each night.  It's really great to hear different songs from the artist you like and not the same same songs night after night after night like we see so often.  I love when bands mix it up for the fans (and themselves too probably).  We have "The Party's Over (Hopelessly In Love)" two nights later in Osaka (already uploaded) and we have "Dixie Highway" here on Tokyo's opening night.  And there are a great mix of the Arrival tracks too.

As with each of the other Sylph label Journey 2001 Japan shows so far, there is audio clipping.  This really cements the idea it was the label that did the audio clipping rather than the people recording the shows.  The waveform is almost like a signature in the amount of clipping of each show's audio seen in the waveform too it looks like when comparing the three different nights so far.  Japanese people seem to be smart and do great jobs when it comes to recording great audio I've noticed through the years.  So I doubt that the tapers had anything to do with the audio clipping.  And again, unless you look at this stuff and are familiar with it, you likely won't notice a thing when listening to it.

I hope you enjoy this show...
