Journey: 1986-10-15 Philadelphia, PA (FLAC_SB/FM_2 CD)

This show is superb in audio quality but I think the band is not as sharp.  It's a great show, but the songs are changed up musically and vocally in a less enjoyable way to me.  To me, it sounds like the band is tired and should be taking a break.  They seem to be in too big of a hurry to finish the show (from the beginning), and as in many of the 1986 Raised on Radio tour shows, the music is sped up too fast.  Just a few days before, and that being my previous upload too, they sounded much sharper and better and not as "in a hurry" (for lack of a better description).  The songs are great, but when they play them at such fast speeds, it makes me want to use the pitch control and slow them down just a little bit.  Of course, this is just my opinion.  You have to make up your own mind if you agree.

This is a much better sounding show audio-wise than the Detroit show, and possibly the best sounding 1986 show to have surfaced so far.  I just wish it was a better performance.  I'm not calling it bad.  But I do consider it to be more sloppy and not the normal, energetic performance Journey is known for presenting.  I don't know if it had anything to do with the struggles going on between the band members, management, and who knows who or what else or not?  This show is pretty much 3 months before Journey disappeared and wasn't heard from again until 1996.  So speculation is all I have and the facts never have been revealed.  But I don't imagine it was a good time for any of the members and that may be why this show just isn't as good of a performance as even the show less than a week earlier.

Don't let my slightly negative review stop you from checking the show out and making your own decision though!  It still sounds great and it is a superb capture of the show nearing the end of the Steve Perry era of Journey's music.

There are two different sets of artwork for this show with the same title.  I'm including both.  One is a low resolution copy and one is a high resolution copy in the two sets.  On some of the artwork it shows extra bonus tracks.  Those are not in this upload.

I hope you enjoy it...
