Journey: 1983-08-19 Tacoma, WA (FLAC_AUD Master 44/16_2 CD) (JEMS Uncirculated Master)

The out of phase issue with the original upload of this show a couple of days ago has been fixed and this is the fixed version.  Believe me, if you want to hear the show the way it should sound, this is the copy you need.  I've asked the Dime moderators to pull the original version that was out of phase so as to avoid any confusion.  I'm sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused anyone

This is a new, uncirculated recording of Journey's show from Tacoma, Washington's new Tacoma Dome in 1983.  This is a JEMS master recording.

The Tacoma Dome venue was brand new when Journey played this show.  In fact, Journey was the second band to play at the venue with the first act being David Bowie eight days earlier.  This was also Journey's second from last show on their 1983 Frontiers tour Steve Perry tells the audience.

As for the audio on this show, it is a very clean recording.  There are some clicks and pops at various points in the recording that are from the master tapes it seems.  But it isn't anything horrible or show ruining at all.  The initial upload of this show a couple of days ago has an out of phase issue with the audio.  This is an easy to look up topic and I found a great, easy to understand description of the phase issues at http://www.uaudio.com/blog/understanding-audio-phase/ that explains the issue.  The sound is a little flat and it isn't a full range of sound type of recording either.

I really like how clean the sound is throughout the whole show and there is very little audience noise too.  Steve Perry's vocals are very up front in the recording also.  In fact, all vocals and instruments alike are.

I really appreciate JEMS sharing this show with me so I could finish getting it ready and share it with everyone else interested in it.  Being a huge Led Zeppelin fan too, I have been very familiar with the various JEMS transfers and work on a number of Led Zeppelin recordings, as well as other artist recordings too, which they've put out for us to collect and hear over the years.  So please be sure to thank the source of the sharing on this uncirculated master Journey recording...and that is JEMS!

I hope you enjoy the concert as much as I have...
